Seven Days, Seven G&Ts: Welcome to Gin & Tonic Week đ¸â¨
Itâs happening. The ice is clinking, the limes are rolling, and the gin bottles are lining up like soldiers. From October 13th onward, Worthingtonâs Bar is going all in on the most iconic highball of all time: the Gin & Tonic.
For seven days straight, weâll be sharing a brand-new G&T recipe every single day â complete with reels, photo posts, and blogs packed with tips, tricks, and the kind of cocktail chaos youâve come to expect from us. And weâre not stopping there. At the end of the week, weâll drop the Ultimate Gin & Tonic Guide â think of it as your personal G&T bible, packed with everything you need to master this classic at home.
So mark your calendars, chill your glasses, and maybe warn your liver. This is going to be legendary.
Why Gin & Tonic Week? đ¤
The Gin & Tonic is deceptively simple â just spirit + mixer + garnish. But within that formula lies a universe of possibilities. Change the gin, swap the tonic, add a different garnish, and suddenly youâre sipping something completely new.
Thatâs why G&Ts are perfect for both beginners and seasoned home bartenders. You donât need a cocktail shaker or obscure ingredients; you just need curiosity (and a little ice). And because itâs Gin & Tonic Week, weâre proving exactly how versatile this drink can be with seven unique Gin & Tonic variations.
A Sneak Peek at the Lineup đ
We donât want to spoil all the fun⌠but hereâs a little taste of whatâs coming your way:
- The Starter Pack: Gordonâs London Dry with Schweppes Tonic + lemon. Cheap, cheerful, and the perfect gateway G&T.
- The Classic: Hendrickâs with Indian Tonic + cucumber. Higher price point, timeless flavor.
- The Limited Edition: Rutte Kefir Lime Gin with Mediterranean Tonic + lime. Straight from Dutch soil â rare and zesty.
- The Wanderlust Pour: Black Forest Wild Gin with Mediterranean Tonic + orange peel + rosemary. Born in Germany, discovered at a Christmas market, now immortalized at Worthingtonâs.
- The Spiced Adventure: Bobbyâs Schiedam Genever with Indian Tonic + ginger + black peppercorns. Dutch roots meet Indonesian spice.
- The Color-Changer: Empress Gin with Elderflower Tonic + grapefruit. Brittâs favorite, turning from blue to purple like liquid magic.
- The Smooth Operator: Sir Edmondâs Gin with Valencian Orange Tonic + coffee beans + orange peel. Joyâs forever favorite.
And then⌠the grand finale: The Ultimate Gin & Tonic Guide. If the daily recipes are the appetizers, this cornerstone blog will be the main course â your all-in-one guide to building, mixing, and mastering G&Ts forever.
âł Countdown to Gin & Tonic Week
The first recipe drops in just a few days â October 13th â and trust us, youâll want to be ready. Think of it like cocktail advent calendar vibes, but instead of chocolate, youâre unwrapping new G&T inspiration every day.
By the time the big finale guide arrives on October 20th, youâll have a whole arsenal of ideas to mix, sip, and show off.
So, set that reminder now: Gin & Tonic Week starts October 13th.
đ Your Gin & Tonic Week Shopping List
If you want to follow along and mix each daily variation at home, hereâs what we recommend having on hand:
- A few different gins (classic London Dry, something citrus-forward, and a wild card if you can).
- Variety of tonics: Indian, Mediterranean, and maybe a floral or elderflower option.
- Citrus fruits: lemon, lime, grapefruit and orange.
- Fresh garnishes: cucumber, rosemary, herbs, ginger, or even coffee beans if youâre feeling adventurous.
- Plenty of ice â because nothing kills a G&T like melting cubes.
Donât worry if you canât find every gin weâll feature â the point is to explore and play. A single bottle of gin and a couple of different tonics will already get you far.
đ The Ultimate Finale: Gin & Tonic Bible
On Sunday, October 19th, weâll release something very special: our Ultimate Gin & Tonic Guide â a true G&T bible.
Inside, youâll find:
- The perfect gin-to-tonic ratios.
- Which glassware works best.
- Ice hacks to avoid watery disasters.
- Garnish secrets for pro-level presentation.
- How to pair different gins with the right tonics.
Think of it as the book of G&T wisdom youâll want to bookmark forever.
â¤ď¸ Why We Love Gin & Tonics (and Why Weâre Doing This)
So, why dedicate a whole week to Gin & Tonics? Simple: because we both love them â maybe a little too much.
For Britt, it all started in Gandia, near Valencia, Spain, where she studied abroad for six months. Nothing beat ending the day with a Gin & Tonic and the Spanish sunset. Whether it was for parties, late-night games, or even replacing beer pong with G&T pong, it became a lifestyle. Letâs just say Britt couldâve gotten her masterâs in Gin & Tonics if only she remembered a little more about drinking them back then. đ
For me, Joy, the love story began closer to home. My younger brother Xander introduced me to the world of Gin & Tonics, and I was hooked instantly. Over the years, Iâve tested countless variations â some hits, some misses, but always fun. Xander and I have gone to tastings together, including one of the best experiences ever at Rutteâs Distillery in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, where we even got to make our own gin.Â
We also went on a Bobbyâs Gin Tour in Schiedam, The Netherlands, together with our uncle Edward, Britt, and her boyfriend Julian. There, we tried three different cocktails made with Bobbyâs Gin and Genever. The cocktails were great and the whole tour was a lot of fun â though if weâre honest, we still prefer our gin with tonics. đ
Since then, Britt and I have made Gin & Tonic nights a tradition. We pick different bottles, mix them with unique tonics and garnishes, and usually pair them with a game night. Thatâs why Gin & Tonic Week felt like the perfect idea. And we canât wait to share it with you.
