This recipes makes about 1.5 liter.

  • 750 ml Red Wine – Go for a fruity but dryer kind like Merlot, Grenache or a Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 400 ml Apple Cider (or Cloudy Apple Juice)
  • 60 ml Licor 43
  • 30 ml Allspice dram
  • 100 ml Brandy
  • 60 ml Honey
  • 15 ml Maple Syrup
  • 1 Orange, Juice & Peels
  • 5 Whole Cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 Whole Star Anise
  • Garnish: Orange Slices & Cinnamon Sticks

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a big saucepan.
  2. Slowly bring the mixture to a slight simmer on medium-low heat. Don’t let the mixture boil because the alcohol will evaporate.
  3. Let simmer for 20 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Strain the mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into your mugs.
  6. Garnish with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
  7. Enjoy!
