Award-Winning Irish Coffee at Katie Daly’s Pub in Limerick, Ireland

One of the main landmarks in Limerick City is King John’s Castle. We went to visit this castle and took a tour of it. We learned a lot about its history and on top of the castle towers we were greeted with an amazing view of the city. We visited in October, so it was Pumpkin Season, and the courtyard was filled with beautiful pumpkins. 

After our visit to the castle, we wanted to get a warm drink. When in Ireland, you must have an Irish Coffee ☘️! Since this is one of our favorite warm alcoholic drinks, we didn’t want to drink just any Irish Coffee. Katie Dalys Heritage Pub & Kitchen is situated in the Medieval Quarter of Limerick City, just across the entrance of King John’s Castle. 

A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere

When we walked past this cozy pub, we saw a sign that said: ‘Award Winning Irish Coffee’. So, we just had to stop and have a taste ourselves. We did a little research of this pub and apparently Katie Daly’s is a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike. 

Entering Katie Daly’s Heritage Pub & Kitchen, we were greeted with a very cozy and inviting ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. We were welcomed by the very friendly staff. The pub has a rustic interior decorated with wooden accents, vintage memorabilia and a fireplace to give you a warm and cozy feeling.

Crafted Beverages and Irish Whiskeys

No Irish pub experience would be complete without a selection of carefully crafted beverages. At Katie Daly’s, you’ll find a wide variety of local and international beers, ciders, and spirits to quench your thirst. At the time of our visit they had the following drinks on tap:

• Guinness (obviously)
• Murphy’s
• Coors
• Orchard Thieves (In the Netherlands it’s called ‘Apple Bandit’)
• Heineken

Walking into Katie Daly’s Heritage Pub & Kitchen, you’ll walkin into a world of Irish whiskey. They have a range of traditional and lesser-known labels, allowing your taste buds to savor the distinct flavors and aromas that have made Irish whiskey renowned worldwide. 

Cheesecake & Award Winning Irish Coffee

Obviously, we ordered Irish coffees for the table. Since we had been enjoying some of Limerick’s history and culture all morning, we decided to have a little snack as well. We had the chocolate cheesecakes, which looked & tasted great!
